Madrid, 16 July 2019 – The Olympic Channel today announced that it has reached agreements with the international governing bodies for armwrestling, chess, dragon boat, icestocksport, lifesaving and sepaktakraw to collaborate on content. The six new cooperation agreements bring the number of the global platform’s federation partners to 91.
The new agreements include partnerships with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised federations of International Chess Federation (FIDE), International Federation Icestocksport (IFI) and International Life Saving Federation (ILS). In addition, the Alliance of Independent recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) federations of International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF), International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) and World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) join other International Sports Federations and multi-sport organisations worldwide who have previously announced similar agreements with the Olympic Channel.

Olympic Channel federation partners include international sports federations (IFs), recognised federations and organisations, multi-sport organisers and non-recognised federations.
In addition to collaborating on live events, the Olympic Channel actively works with its federation partners to present event coverage, highlights, magazine shows, news coverage and original programming providing an additional platform to distribute content that are complementary to current broadcast and distribution arrangements.

I have the sad duty to inform you that our
IFI Vice-president for Sport
died in the early morning hours on Friday, 24th of May 2019.
We have lost a very energetic and always helpful sportsman and friend. With deepest pain and regret we came to know about this loss.
His passion for the development of Icestocksport was incredible. Karl has passed away leaving us all with a great legacy. Speaking on behalf of the entire IFI family, let me state now how much we will be missing him.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences to his wife and family.

The annual Euro Grand Prix of Icestocksport for U16 Teams is taking place from the 2nd of August 2019 to the 4th August 2019 in Straßkirchen (located in the district “Straubing-Bogen”), Germany.
The organizers of the event are the SV Windberg and the ESC Straßkirchen. These two Icestocksport clubs are looking forward to the attendance of numerous European youth national teams and exciting contests.
The competitions start on Friday, the 2nd August 2019, at 7:30 pm with the opening ceremony for each of the competing athletes. On Saturday, 3rd August, the target-competition for both disciplines, single and team shooting, will start at 8.30 am. On Sunday, the 4th August, the international championship ends with the team competitions, starting at 8.00 am and followed by a short closing ceremony.
